PTZOptics Integrates NewTek NDI for IP Camera at NAB 2016

Philadelphia, PA – PTZOptics, the broadcast camera manufacturer, is announcing an integration with NewTek to display the open Network Device Interface (NDI™) standard at the 2016 National Association of Broadcasters trade show. PTZOptics will display the popular live streaming camera line in use with various NDI- compatible hardware and software solutions at the Las Vegas Convention Center, April 18th-21st.

The NDI standard for live production IP workflow is bi-directional and backwards compatible with a large number of products from top manufacturers already utilizing NewTek’s technology allowing IP interoperability. As a result, PTZOptics cameras can be immediately part of a larger IP-based workflow using NewTek applications such as NewTek Connect Pro and more.

PTZOptics has already published an “NDI Playbook” to demonstrate the implications of this technology in the major market verticals they serve. “Integrating NewTek NDI has been a top priority for us here at PTZOptics. The 2016 NAB show will be our first public display of our camera integrations,.” sSays Paul Richards Director of Business Development. “There are so many circumstances where we no longer have to say NO. With NDI the answer is usually, YES, we can do that and it’s not going to be too expensive to get it done.”.

“The use of IP video promises to fundamentally change the way that we interact and work with video throughout the entire process from acquisition to delivery, said Michael Kornet, executive Vice President, Business Development. “Both PTZ Optics and NewTek are leaders in this space and by working together using NewTek NDI and NewTek Connect Pro software, we are truly excited to create an affordable broadcast camera IP solution available now for customers with multi-camera production workflows.”

NDI is now available as a royalty free software developer kit (SDK) for any company looking to establish IP workflows within their organization, or in production tools and systems they manufacture.
